I’ve been trying to keep the two languages separate, by having an all-Swedish blog here. (How interesting! The WordPress dictionary doesn’t recognise the word ‘blog’, but instead suggests glob, log, bog, slog, or clog. It also does not want me to write Wordpress as one word. Odd.) But it just doesn’t work. Swedish is most definitely my native language, but English is my current, and keeping them apart like this is just far too confusing.
(Although I really should keep them apart better. I have recently, on several occasions, accidentally used the work “liksom”* as a filler when speaking English. Not good.)
I had intended to “keep my Swedish alive”, so to speak, by writing about things in Swedish. I have come to realise, however, that the writing bit is more of a priority than the Swedish bit.
So: this blog will from now on be bilingual. It’s just so much easier to have only one place to write, and, after all, noone must read all posts. Just pick your poison language!:-)
Oh, and my next project is to update this wordpress blog - hopefully that will give me the nice nested comment feature.
It’ll happen sometime over the next few days, so if the blog looks weird/non-existing, that’s why. I’ll make a backup though, so if it doesn’t work I can put it back to normal again. I will also change the tags and categories into English, I think. Makes more sense.
*”liksom” = like, as in ‘We were, like, only looking.’
